Labiaplasty is a discreet plastic surgery procedure for women to minimize the labia minora (the skin that covers the vaginal opening and clitoris). Dr. Kathleen Waldorf has been in practice for more than 20 years, during which she has performed many successful labiaplasty procedures for Portland-area women, and all our staff is sensitive to the specific needs and concerns of women seeking this procedure.
During the surgery, your surgeon will remove excess tissue from the labia minora, which may have been causing pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse or when wearing tight-fitting clothing. This procedure is also often desired by women who feel that their labia have become stretched as a result of childbirth or age. The surgery is sometimes called labia rejuvenation or labial reduction.
Since labiaplasty is such an intimately personal surgery, we at the Waldorf Center want to ensure that each woman considering the procedure has all of her questions answered and is fully informed about what it involves. Dr. Waldorf will conduct a consultation with professionalism and compassion, using the time for an examination and discussion intended to increase a patient's understanding of the specifics, as well confidence in the choice.
Your surgeon will customize your surgical plan based on your anatomy and the results you want. The procedure usually takes about one hour. The labia are trimmed per your specifications, and absorbable stitches are used to close the incisions. In some cases, fat grafting to the labia is indicated.
The surgery is usually performed as an outpatient procedure.

You can return to work and other activities within one to two weeks, and we will give you a peri bottle to rinse the incision areas. There will be some swelling, tenderness, and discomfort, but these symptoms are generally mild. If necessary, you can manage any pain with medication.
Avoid strenuous activity, sexual intercourse, and the use of tampons for a period of four weeks after your surgery. Your surgeon will provide you with full post-operative instructions.

I was displeased with my breast size. We did the 3D Vectra imaging and Dr. Waldorf concluded that 220 or 255cc silicone implants would give me my desired results. Everything went extremely smoothly on the day of my surgery ... I was back to normal activity within 1-2 weeks. Overall it was an excellent experience!Learn More
From the very first visit, all my experiences with Dr. Waldorf have been great. I was always self-conscious of my small chest but never as much as after having 2 kids & nursing each of them for 1 year. I had no cleavage at all & finding a swimsuit that could conceal this was very difficult. I went from 32A to 32C which fits my body perfectly & looks very natural. The surgery & my recovery went very smooth & I'm very happy with the result.Learn More
