BREAST REVISION SURGERY IN PORTLAND
CORRECT A PROBLEM FROM A PRIOR SURGERY IN OREGON
Occasionally, a condition arises after breast augmentation that requires breast revision surgery. These conditions include capsular contracture, implant malposition, implant deflation, implant rupture, or simply a desire to change the size of the breast implants.
If you wish to replace your implants with a smaller size or remove the implants entirely, a breast lift procedure may be necessary to reshape the surrounding tissue and skin. At The Waldorf Center, we have a staff that is especially sensitive to the needs and concerns of women.
YOUR BREAST REVISION SURGERY CONSULTATION
We believe you need to be well informed about breast revision surgery so that you can make an informed decision about your procedure and your surgeon. This includes the results you can expect, the processes of preparing for the surgery, and the recovery period. Your surgeon will meet with you about your concerns and personal goals. They will examine you and tell you what they can accomplish for you. Your surgeon will also advise you on what the breast revision surgery will involve in terms specific to your case.
Choosing a surgeon is an intensely personal decision. We encourage you to ask questions of your surgeon and our team. We want you to feel comfortable with us and your decision to have surgery at The Waldorf Center.

YOUR BREAST REVISION SURGERY
Capsular contracture is a condition in which scar tissue forms tightly around the breast implant. An open capsulotomy treats this scarring or revises the shape of the pocket that holds the implant. This usually involves surgical removal of the scar tissue and, often, the placement of a new implant. Other conditions are treated on a highly individualized basis.
A breast revision procedure usually takes one to two hours and is performed using general anesthesia. After recovery from the anesthesia, you can return home to be cared for by family or friends.
Special Financing Available
The Waldorf Center in Portland, OR, offers special financing for the recommended surgical or non-surgical procedure you want. Convenient monthly payments can be structured to fit your financial situation. Call the practice for more information at 503-646-0101 or contact us online.
RECOVERING FROM BREAST REVISION SURGERY
Most patients take one to two weeks off from work after breast revision surgery. Strenuous activity can be resumed in four to six weeks.
There is some swelling, bruising, tenderness, and discomfort to be expected, but you can manage these symptoms with pain medication. You may be fitted with a compression bra to wear for a few weeks to promote healing and reduce swelling.
You will be provided with full post-operative instructions, and the bandages will be removed during one of your follow-up visits, during which we will monitor your progress.
