When injected into the muscles responsible for causing frown lines to develop and deepen between the eyebrows, the active formula (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) prevents the proper transmission of messages that would otherwise trigger muscle motion.

When the muscles stay in a more relaxed and resting state, they do not pull the skin into folds and furrows.

Each injection is made quickly with an ultrafine needle. The overall treatment process takes only minutes, and patients report little discomfort. We will ice the injection area to improve patient comfort. A topical anesthetic is also available, but is rarely needed.

There is no down time required following injections, but patients should expect to see and feel some slight side effects in the treatment area, including bruising and tenderness. Avoid rubbing or massaging the injection site for about 24 hours after the treatment to keep the ingredients from spreading.

Noticeable results will begin to appear over the following the days and weeks, with the smoother and younger-looking appearance lasting for an average of six months—or longer.
