Dr. Rachel Streu brings to her patients a passion for artistry and excellent outcomes through the full spectrum of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Her unorthodox pathway to medicine began at the University of Michigan School of Art and Design, where Dr. Streu earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts. This in-depth training as a fine artist sets her apart as a surgeon and translates to exceptional aesthetic results for her patients. Dr. Streu earned her Master of Science and medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine. At St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she completed her general surgery training. During her surgical training, Dr. Streu spent a year as a research fellow at the University of Michigan in the section of plastic surgery.

After completing her training as a general surgeon, Dr. Rachel Streu became board-certified in general surgery. She then pursued her training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Rachel Streu has contributed to clinical education and surgical literature throughout her career. She has published many abstracts, papers, and book chapters that reflect her scholarly activities. In addition to teaching medical students and residents, she serves as the Medical Director of Plastic Surgery for Forefront Dermatology Group. In this role, Dr. Streu educates providers across the country and presents her expertise on advanced surgical topics, including body contouring after massive weight loss and the impact of GLP-1 medications on surgical planning. Her leadership helps shape best practices and elevate patient care in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.

Dr. Rachel Streu is best known for cosmetic surgery procedures, including breast reduction, breast augmentation, breast lift, and revision of prior cosmetic breast procedures. She’s also well-known for Mommy Makeovers and skin removal and body and face contouring procedures after significant weight loss. Dr. Streu is skilled in abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and more extensive combined body contouring procedures, combining artistry with surgical precision to deliver transformative yet natural results.
