New to the Waldorf Center: Meet Dr. Christopher S. Zarella
Welcome Dr. Zarella! We are thrilled to have Dr. Christopher S. Zarella join our team at The Waldorf Center for Plastic Surgery. Come in and meet him soon… we are sure you’ll love him. Until then, learn a bit more about our newest addition below.
The Only Fellowship Trained Pediatric Plastic Surgeon In Oregon
Dr. Zarella attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate studies where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and graduated with honors. He attended Wake Forest University for both medical school and his General Surgery residency. He received board certification by the American Board of Surgery. After his residency, he completed an additional residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. Then he received fellowship training in Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. He is the only fellowship trained pediatric plastic surgeon in Oregon.
Passion for Surgery on Adults and Children
Dr. Zarella loves working with both adults and children. One of the initial draws to plastic surgery was the opportunity to work with patients of every age and to work on every part of the body. Each patient and each surgery is different and Dr. Zarella is passionate about working with patients at every age and stage.
He is an active member of the cleft palate team at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center where he performs surgeries to correct congenital deformities (including cleft lip and palate), craniosynostosis, and deformities of the hand and foot. He has had the opportunity to participate in surgical mission trips in China and Central America. In adult patients he specializes in facial rejuvenation, breast surgeries, and body contouring. He is skilled in performing both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
An Artistic Perspective
In addition to plastic surgery, Dr. Zarella is a passionate artist. He previously won a prestigious award for one of his art pieces, which was later showcased around the country. The artistry of plastic surgery allows Dr. Zarella to combine his love of medicine with his passion for art.
Outside of the office, he enjoys running and being outdoors. The annual Hood to Coast Relay Race is one of his favorite events of year. He loves the beauty of Oregon and looks forward to building a life and a career here.
We are thrilled to have Dr. Zarella join our surgical staff at The Waldorf Center for Plastic Surgery.
