Shannon O'Brien, md
Dr. Shannon P. O'Brien is a Portland plastic surgeon, dedicated to providing safe, effective, cutting-edge aesthetic and reconstructive surgery that is personalized to her patients' individual needs. In January 2010, Dr. O'Brien became a board-certified member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. O'Brien enjoys sitting down and getting to know her patients. By taking the time to truly hear each patient's concerns and goals and giving an honest evaluation, Dr. O'Brien strives to build relationships with her patients based on trust. This unhurried approach is ultimately the key to a satisfied patient.
Dr. O'Brien graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She then obtained her Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio. While in medical school, she served as her class President, and was elected into the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. O'Brien then went on to complete a highly sought after 6-year integrated residency program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She also obtained additional aesthetic surgical training in Miami, Florida from Drs. James Stuzin and Tracey Baker. These surgeons are well known in the field of plastic surgery as leaders in cosmetic surgical techniques.
After completing her training, Dr. O'Brien joined Dr. Kathleen Waldorf at The Waldorf Center for Plastic Surgery. Her interests include aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body. She also enjoys pediatric plastic surgery, and is actively involved in the Cleft Lip and Palate clinic at Emanuel Hospital.
