The Temporary Living Center (TLC) at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital
is a "home away from home" for people who need a protected
environment for brief periods of time because of age, infirmity,
physical disability, social dependency or surgical recovery, but
do not require acute nursing care or continuous medical supervision.
Who uses the TLC?
Referral by a physician is not required to access TLC services.
The TLC is intended for use by:
- Pre- and post-surgical patients who need a supervised environment.
- Individuals traveling to the hospital over long distances
for outpatient services.
- Families of hospitalized patients who do not wish to leave
the hospital or who should not be alone.
- People whose care-givers are in need of respite from their
responsibilities.
- Patients recently discharged from a healthcare facility who
cannot or do not wish to be alone.
The TLC is managed by Legacy Health Systems and is designed to
provide a stimulating custodial and supervised home-like environment.
The TLC's location within Legacy Meridian Park Hospital provides
immediate access to medical services should unforeseen needs arise.
Pharmacy services are available in close proximity to the hospital.
What is the Charge?
Two levels of care are available:
- Hotel Service: $89 per day. Private room with bath, telephone
and television for totally independent individuals. Meals may
be purchased in the hospital dining room.
- Full Service: $204 per day. Private room with bath, telephone
and television, as well as all meals and assistance with personal
care and medication administration. Note: A weekly fee
of $35 will be assessed on the day of admission and weekly thereafter
for supplies used. .

Who pays for the care?
TLC's charges for accommodations and supplies are usually not
eligible for insurance reimbursement, with the exception of some
long term care nursing insurance policies. Fees are payable at
the time of discharge from the TLC. Major credit cards are accepted.
Additionally, charges incurred as an outpatient for pre-authorized
medical treatments (such as emergency room services, radiology,
lab tests, cardiac rehab, and rehab therapies) can be billed directly
to the insurance company.
