Lower Body Lift(Circumferential abdominoplasty)

It is very common for people to have excess skin on their abdomen, outer thighs and buttocks after losing a significant amount of weight. This can be very frustrating after working so hard to lose the weight in the first place.

A circumferential abdominoplasty allows a plastic surgeon to remove the excess skin all the way around the trunk to create a smoother abdominal shape. It also lifts the buttocks to their appropriate location and smoothes the upper outer thighs. This procedure creates a scar that travels around the lower abdomen and just above the buttocks. It can generally be hidden without difficulty under clothing and many swimsuits.

After a circumferential abdominoplasty a person should plan to relax for ten to fourteen days before easing back into his or her normal routine. Exercise is usually restricted for about four weeks to allow adequate healing.
